THE FATHER ROGER'S CUP

The Father Roger's Cup is awarded at the end of each month to a pupil who has made an outstanding contribution to our core value for that month.

This special award is given in memory of Fr Michael Rogers (RIP), our beloved Parish Priest until 2014. We hold very fond memories of Fr Rogers and honour his legacy through this meaningful recognition.

Every pupil in our school aspires to receive the Father Roger's Cup. It is a cherished award and a true privilege to be chosen as its recipient.

THE JOHN JOE MEMORIAL CUP

John Joe Toner was a pupil in St Malachy's Primary School from 2010-2017.  He was born with a congenital heart defect but despite having serious health challenges throughout his life, he participated in sports, music and all school activities.  He loved farming and football and was a dedicated altar server in St Malachy's Church from Primary 5 to 7.  John Joe always gave his best in everything he did.  His life was cut short at the age of just eleven years in February 2017, when he suffered a cardiac arrest while singing with the choir in school.  Despite surviving for five days on a life support machine in the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast, he went home to God on the 14th February 2017.  

This beautiful cup is awarded in memory of John Joe, and we know he would be proud to see so many of his friends and relatives honoured since his passing. Pupils earn this award by working hard to live out our core value for the month, showing real commitment and effort in all they do.

THE ENDEAVOUR CUP

The Endeavour Cup is awarded each month to a pupil who demonstrates outstanding effort, resilience, and commitment to achieving our school’s core value. It celebrates those who consistently try their best, face challenges with determination, and show a positive attitude in all aspects of school life.  This special award encourages pupils to grow in character and confidence, and is something every child can aspire to with pride.

THE VALUES CHAMPION CUP

The Values Champion Cup is awarded each month to a pupil who works hard to live out our school’s core value. It recognises determination, a positive attitude, and a genuine effort to grow in character.  This award celebrates pupils who consistently try their best, even when they find things challenging or difficult. Their determination and positive attitude inspire others, making it a proud moment to be named a Values Champion.
