St Malachy’s Primary School 74 Ballymoyer Road, Whitecross

ECO Zone

Our pupils are actively involved in promoting an environmentally friendly school. We have created a 'Breathing Place' across from our school in which we encourage wildlife to inhabit.  We also plant and harvest our own potatoes, make our own compost and feed the birds.   We also recycle ink cartridges, batteries and clothes. In May 2015 we were awarded our second Eco-Schools Green Flag.

In association with 'Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful' we won the Best Kept Small Primary School in the Southern Education Area.   This is testimony to the support of our parental community, who help out each year with an annual tidy up!
